VUE stands out because it lets you map ideas and attach real content to them, supports totally free-form layouts, works well for research/teaching, and is open-source giving you more flexibility than typical mind-mapping tools.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favourite aspect is how VUE lets you combine ideas and actual content in the same space turning a simple concept map into an interactive workspace where you can think, organize, and explore all at once.

What do you dislike most about this product?

the interface can feel a bit dated and overwhelming at first, which makes it harder to get started compared to more polished, beginner-friendly tools.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would recommend giving yourself a little time to learn it, because once you get past the initial complexity, VUE becomes a powerful thinking and organizing tool. Start with small maps, explore the content-linking features, and don’t be afraid to experiment, the flexibility is where it really shines
