What differentiates OpenText Cloud Management from other similar products?

For me, the real edge is how it handles complex logic in messy, hybrid environments. Most tools are great for simple cloud provisioning, but this one actually manages multi-step workflows that involve old-school on-prem servers and modern APIs in the same flow. The RAS (Remote Action Service) is a lifesaver for executing tasks behind strict firewalls without compromising security. Also, the out-of-the-box content library is massive; you don't have to reinvent the wheel every time you need to talk to a database or a load balancer.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

What I like most is its ability to handle complex logic without breaking. Most automation tools are fine for simple tasks, but this one lets you build workflows with real decision-making and error handling. The debugger is also a huge plus—it actually lets you see exactly where a flow is stuck when things get complicated.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Finding specific answers in the documentation can be frustrating. While there is a lot of info out there, sometimes it's hard to find a clear example for a specific integration. Also, the error messages in the logs can be cryptic at times, which makes troubleshooting take longer than it should.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Be patient with the learning curve. I’d recommend having at least one or two dedicated people to master the tool instead of having everyone dabble in it. Take advantage of the pre-built content in the Marketplace before trying to build everything from scratch—it’ll save you weeks of work. Start with small, high-impact wins like automated server restarts or password resets.

What differentiates OpenText Cloud Management from other similar products?

It has lots of features, some very advanced and unique, but end client has to decide if all of it will be used. If majority won't, then this options is very expensive. but stable product, yet not the most UI friendly

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Strong workflows/processes and customization opportunities.

What do you dislike most about this product?

if not on cloud, high maintenance and upgrade costs. Not easily available experts with this skillset.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Determine how to proceed with support of it. And learn features and if most applicable, might be great product for regulated industries.
